Easy Crocheted Blanket Pattern

Published / by caroline@myfriendcaroline.com / 1 Comment on Easy Crocheted Blanket Pattern

This is an easy crocheted throw that makes a nice decor piece for any living room. It also is a nice size for a lap cover as well.  I have used the color TigerLily for this picture. This is a good color to use for your Fall decor. The yarn is Red Heart with Love. I did 2 skeins of 7oz yarn. The finished piece I made was 21” x 36”. (It is folded in half in the picture.) You can make it longer if you want by just doing more rows. By doing the initial 100 beginning chains it will measure 21” across.

Crochet Hook: H/8 or 5 mm hook

Primary Technique: Crochet

Occasion/Theme: Fall

Materials:

  • 2 skeins Red Heart With Love Yarn
  • 4.25MM (US G-6)

ch=chain

dc=double crochet

sp=space

Instructions:

  1. Row 1 : Ch 100, 1 dc in 2nd and 3rd ch from hook, *ch 1, skip 1 ch, dc in next 2 chs**,  repeat from * across ending 1 dc in last ch, ch 1 turn.
  2. Row 2: 2 dc in first ch 1 sp, *ch 1, 2dc in next ch1 sp**, repeat from * across end by doing 1 dc in turning ch st, ch 1 turn
  3. Continue pattern repeating Rows 2 until size desired,

When the desired size has been reached fasten off.

Now I have used two different size of yarns for this pattern before. I have done a full 1lb size and I have use (2) 7 oz size skeins. If you use two, when the one runs out just join the new one and continue with the pattern. You can add different colors for a striped effect as well.
