Yell it from the mountain top!!! If you are passionate about something, be proud. Let others know what it is and why it is so important to you. Always remember that others may not be passionate about the things you are, but that is just fine. We are all different. That is what makes the world go round. Others are not wrong if they feel different than you just as much as you are not wrong to feel the way you do. Express who you are and yell it from the mountain top!!!
How do you feel? How does that make you feel? What are you feeling? These are questions that get asked everyday, especially when something bad happens. We ask others how it makes them feel or we ask ourselves how we feel. For some they can tell you right away exactly how they are feeling, others however can not.
It is important that we express what we feel. It is ok to be angry, sad or confused. There is never a right or wrong answer when you answer how you feel. No one should be chastised for how they feel. If you are someone that is not able to share your feelings, I encourage you to write them down. Don’t hold back, use words that describe how you feel. Getting these out whether verbally or on paper helps us to heal and grow.
It is important for children to express how they feel. Maybe they can’t write yet but encourage them to draw a picture of what they are feeling. Journaling is such a great outlet. You don’t have to fill a page every time you write. Even if it is just a few words, you are expressing yourself.
I challenge you to try to journal everyday for a week. Write about anything you want to and just see how inspired and emotionally free you can feel. Encourage your little ones to do the same. You can make it a family thing as well.
So tell me how do you feel?
One drop is all it takes to start a ripple. If you watch that one drop, the ripple goes way beyond the one point where the drop was. We can be that drop. Just one kind word to someone can be a drop that sends a ripple throughout them that can change his or her life. You can be a positive drop or a negative drop. That is why it is so important to say positive things to people. I am sure you have heard “if you don’t have something nice to say, then don’t say anything at all”. This is so true. Even a smile to a stranger can be that one drop of happiness that they need to get through the day or whatever they are going through. Start a positive ripple today in someone’s life.
I have a new happy place to go to at the end of the day and it is my new rocking chair. For Christmas my husband bought me a rocking chair. I am a “Grammy” and enjoy rocking my grand-babies whenever I get a chance and I remember rocking my little ones. I am not sure what exactly makes rocking so comfortable. It is so relaxing to just sit there and rock. The rocking motion is very soothing. I don’t know if it is something in our memory bank, That feeling of being rocked when we were little. Some say for babies it represents what it felt like in the womb when “mommy” was walking around. People talk about growing old and sitting on their porch in their rocking chair. There could be so many reasons why, but to me they all don’t matter. I just love the relaxed feeling I get when I am able to end my day in my rocking chair. This is my happy place. I hope you have a happy place that makes you feel and good as I do when I am rocking in my chair.
Each New Year starts as a New Bud. How it blooms depends on you. You can water it with positive attitude, self-love, and compassion for others. On the other hand you can choke it out with self doubt, complaining and judging others. The choice is yours, not any other person’s. We can be so quick to blame others for our defeated feeling. You are the only one who can change your life. The beginning of a New Year is the perfect time to start watering your bloom. Make that choice today. Surround yourself with positive people and start positive thinking are just a couple of things you can start with. You can make this year filled with many beautiful blooms…start it now!!!
One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is to go look at all the lights. To see how each family sets theirs up in their own special way. They all seem so magical. When my kid were little we would drive around and look at lights. There was one neighborhood that encouraged people to get out and walk the block. It was always chilly out so we would all bundle up. I can still hear the laughter from all the kids.
I now do this with my grandkids and still cherish hearing the laughter and seeing the amazement in their eyes as they look at each house. They can see magic in them too. When we do walk the neighborhood everyone is so happy. There are many saying “Hello” and “Merry Christmas”. It doesn’t matter what race you are, or where you came from to see these lights. We are all there for one purpose and that is to see the magic these lights bring.
I do wish that we could capture this all year long. I pray that one day we can…but until then I will enjoy the Christmas season and the magical lights it brings.
The most memorable thing that happen this past year is that my 9th grandbaby was born. Yes I am “Grammy” to nine beautiful little ones. Having them around helps me remember to see the world through a child’s eyes. Everything is so new and exciting to them. It is easy as adults to get bogged down with all the bad things going on. We can soon get such a dark cloud of feelings surrounding us that nothing makes us happy. There is beauty in the world. We just have to see things through child eyes. See how colorful a butterfly is or what a beautiful song a bird can sing. You will notice that if you start trying to find beauty it will become easier and easier to find. Soon that dark cloud is gone and we can smile again. Let’s all start having child eyes.
It is that time of year when we all start looking back on the year that is just about to end and look forward to the new one. I have learned different things about blogging this year. I started out with that new found energy that comes with the beginning of a year. Then about half way through other things started to take over and my blogging took a back seat.
I found myself reading many articles about blogging. Things that I should be doing or not doing. While learning about blogging I started to doubt myself. The articles are great for ideas but what I needed to remember is what works for some may not work for me. My brain started to get into over load. Writing was starting to become a task for me. What should I write about? What should my niche be? I had to step back, take a deep breathe and just start writing for myself again. Once I did this, I started to enjoy blogging again.
So when thinking about next year and where you want to take your blogging, just remember find things that work for you. Write because you enjoy it and let the words flow!!!!
Don’t let evil win!!!
Just want to jot a short note down to talk about not letting evil win. With all that is going on in the world it is easy to want to shut and lock all our doors and not go outside, let alone let our kids out. If we do that though I feel evil wins. We need to live each day like the gift that it is. We need to let our kids experience life. Now that is not to say you should not be aware of your surroundings at all times, but continue to live life to the fullest.
Go out and enjoy the good in this world!!!
